POS Software Developer/Application Support- Hiring Immediately

An exciting opportunity exists with Advanced Business Products located in Orange City, Florida. Join this dynamic small business team where you are more than a person in a cube.
This position will be split between 2 different roles as lead application support and software design/developer.
Salary will be set between 45K-55K based upon the selected candidate's overall experience and skill.
Benefits include casual work environment, paid holidays and vacation.
This is a full time job, situated just north of Orlando, Florida. Candidates outside of central Florida must be willing to re-locate.
No travel will be required for this position.
Requirements:
Applicants should possess the following Qualifications:
Must be a self-starter, quick learner and have continual desire to learn
Ability to thrive in small business environment
2+ years providing technical support of PC/Notebook hardware based systems, and/or relative experience.
2 plus years of experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and .NET Web applications.
Microsoft Windows 7/8.1 experience essential.
Microsoft Office experience essential.
Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server, stored procedure development, SQL table design, SSRS and SSIS.
Strong C++ programming skills
Ability to work effectively with small teams in a dynamic environment and on multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong customer service experience
Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced work environment and demonstrate thoughtful leadership in assessing problems and opportunities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Windows and the use of Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to write efficient code.
Ability to provide reliable estimates and when required, work additional hours to meet set deadlines
Availability to debug or assist in emergency situations after hours as needed.
Knowledge of Point of Sale a plus.
Knowledge about various types of virtualization software (VMware) is a plus
Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Support:
Handle inbound technical inquiries effectively and efficiently through the use of proactive customer service and call control techniques and proven technical troubleshooting procedures
Confirm detailed system configuration and problem description
Create an exceptional experience for the customer by using professional customer service techniques, personalizing and focusing on adding value to the customer experience
Retain existing customer/services through the use of proactive customer service/consulting techniques and enabling customers to perceive value in the service
Resolve customer questions/concerns efficiently and effectively through the use of active listening and personalizing techniques and by focusing on adding value
Resolve problems on the first call, with minimum supervision, and consistently improving personal technical knowledge and understanding
Manipulate systems to resolve customer inquiry and reproduce customer's technical issues
Participate in ongoing training in keeping with company request and changing business strategies
Adhere to company's policies and procedures
Maintain a positive attitude and support company's Commitment to Excellence and High Standards
Log, track, and resolve support requests
Customer follow-up via phone & email
Perform other duties as assigned
Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Development:
Responsible for design, development, enhancement and problem solving related to applications and software.
Execute tasks in accordance with existing IT methodology and requirements.
Will serve as technical and analytical resource and will be tasked with small to medium size development projects.
Ability to quickly understand existing code and enhance and build on an existing architecture.
Develop, test, and maintain applications to improve business processes, workflow, and end-user analysis
Undertake application design activities to include definition of data, reporting requirements and error handling

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
