We are actively seeking a hard-working, reliable, professional, and trustworthy person who can work independently, with minimal to no supervision as a Dog Trainer Apprentice.
All employees are expected to learn to mastery of all kennel technician duties and be high-performing in such duties while learning to be a Dog Kennel Tech / Trainer Apprentice.
Unpaid 3-Day Internship required to be hired to determine suitability for role.
Job
Responsibilities:
Daily duties to be completed throughout the shift include cleaning kennels/facility/workplace, feeding, walking, dispensing medication, fecal pick-up when needed to aid the Trainer.
Occasionally bathing/grooming and other general assistance in day-to-day operations of our dog training business may be needed.
Exhibits polite and professional communication via phone, text, e-mail, and written mail to all clients and other staff.
Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level and anticipating needed supplies.
Must be willing to work mornings, weekends, and during holidays.
This position has room for further growth for the right candidate.
This position requires an appropriate candidate to be able-bodied and able to occasionally work in the sun with no shade.
This role is designed to put you on track to be a Trainer Apprentice to a fully trained Xena's Pack Trainer.
Skills and
Qualifications:
Ability to quickly clean up messes and appropriately sanitize affected area(s).
Be comfortable with reactive or aggressive dog handling.
Understand basic dog behavior.
Maintaining and upholding training instilled in student dogs by the Trainer.
Be confident in answering phone calls and handling schedule management as well as relay messages to the entire team accurately.
Education and Experience Requirements A high school diploma or equivalent education required Valid driver's license and personal operable vehicle required No training experience required but preferred Professional experience with animal husbandry preferred Background check required Drug screening may apply Starting Pay Starting Wage:
$17 Hourly Unpaid 3 Day Internship required to be hired to determine suitability for role Starting Hours This role is intended to start at a part-time role either Friday to Monday (8am-5pm) or just weekends (8am-5pm) but performance can lead to full-time for the right applicant.
